GST returns are to be filed by every person who is registered under the GST irrespective of any supply made or not. GST return is also required to be filled even if there is no business commenced.

What is GSTR 3B and when it has to be filled?

GSTR 3B is a summary return and has to be filled on a monthly basis irrespective of the turnover. GSTR 3B contains the data of the total supply made during a month and the total GST credit available.

What is the difference between gstr 1 and GSTR-3B?

GSTR 3B is a summary return and contains only the amount in total. Whereas GSTR 1 is a detailed return and invoice wise details of the inward and outward supply.

What is an annual gst return?

Section 44 of CGST Act requires every person registered under the GST to file annual GST return till 31st December of the subsequent financial year. Various annual returns are as under

  • GSTR 9 Filled by a person who is required to file GSTR 1 and whose turnover is less than INR 2 crores.
  • GSTR 9A Filled by person who has filled GST return under the composite scheme.
  • GSTR 9C This return is to be filled by the person whose turnover exceeds INR 2 crores in a financial year. This return is also called a GST Audit return.

In the case of Export of Goods or Service, the person is liable to pay Zero amount of GST if the same is done through Letter Of Undertaking.
